Duties

Help

As a Program Analyst (Data Analyst) you are responsible for planning, coordinating, review analysis and evaluation of programs of the office. In this position you will work with relational database models and/or large data warehouses, identifying, and collecting, ingesting, and processing new data sets.

At the full performance level (GS-12) typical work assignments include:

  • Developing the organization's data analytics platform.
  • Leading team efforts to assist data architects in the organizations data warehousing efforts by collecting and reporting user requirements and researching, identifying, and documenting new data sets and APIs.
  • Developing and/or identifying techniques or methods to gather data, research, and documentation for a variety of diverse and complex analysis and visualization projects.
  • Supporting program managers, auditors, inspectors, and investigators by developing or assisting with the development of automated analytical tools, creating dashboards related to analysis performed, and documenting best practices.

To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully obtain and maintain a background investigation for a Secret clearance as a condition of placement into this position.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-09 level you must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-07 level in the federal service or private sector that includes one or more of the following: experience working with relational database models and/or large data warehouses; experience with identifying, collecting, ingesting, and processing new data sets; experience collaborating and teamwork within, between, and across organizational boundaries in data analytics projects; experience explaining technical data analytics content to non-technical audiences; experience engaging with business leaders, colleagues, or clients to understand and define business requirements for a data analytics project. OR

A Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree OR have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled OR have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience

To qualify for the GS-11 level you must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience, at or equivalent to the GS-09 level in the federal service or private sector assisting senior analysts working with relational database models and/or large warehouses, and identifying, collecting, ingesting and processing new data sets. OR

A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled OR have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

To qualify for the GS-12 level you must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience, at or equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal service or private serving as a senior analyst working with relational database models and/or large warehouses, and identifying, collecting, ingesting and processing new data sets; experience also includes having the responsibility for the planning, coordinating, review analysis, and the evaluation of office programs.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
