Carries out research assignments under the guidance of an experienced economic researcher to evaluate the impacts of NIST and federal government technology transfer efforts. Applies established methods, tests, procedures, and techniques (including use of SAS, STATA, Excel, or other statistical modeling programs as appropriate) to evaluate data. Records actions and results, and publishes or presents research findings as appropriate.
Must be enrolled at least half time at a qualifying institution
Must possess a grade point average (GPA) of a 3.0 or higher out of a 4.0.
All applicants must be a student accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, degree) in a qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled). In addition, you must be enrolled in school for the duration of the appointment. You will be required to provide documentation to support your eligibility for the program.
Applicants must possess a grade point average (GPA) of a 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0. Grade-point averages are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9.

Qualifications
FOR ZP-II: GRADUATE STUDENTS
Basic Requirements:
Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
OR
B.Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must have: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education or have Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor's degree.
Superior Academic Achievement is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.
1. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.
2. Grade-point average (G.P.A.)-- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: a. 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or b. 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. Grade-point averages are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9.

Additional information
As a part of the Pathways Internship Program, the appointment may be extended until the selectee's educational program requirements have been completed.
PROGRAM COMPLETION AND CONVERSION: Program participants may be non-competitively converted to a career-conditional, career, or term position within 120 days of successful completion of the program, but there is no requirement to do so.
To be eligible for conversion, the intern must:
Meet the OPM qualification standards for the position to which s/he will be converted
Have completed academic study from a qualifying institution
Have completed at least 640 hours of work experience while in the Internship program; up to 320 hours may be credited from other qualifying federal Internship appointments or non-federal work experience toward the 640 hours
Receive a favorable recommendation by an official of the Agency
Pathways participants may be converted to a permanent or term position within any NIST career path. If converted to permanent or term position, the full performance level would be: ZP-III
Males born after December 31, 1959 must certify that they have registered for the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so under Selective Service Law
You will be in a trial period throughout your entire Pathways appointment.
