This position is located in the Department of Defense (DoD), Office of the Inspector General (OIG), Deputy Inspector General. Investigative Policy and Oversight. The incumbent will work with a team of special agents and investigators conducting evaluations of Defense Criminal Investigative Organizations (DCIOs) and Department law enforcement agencies and conducting oversight of the DoD OIG subpoena and contractor disclosure programs. He/she must have a comprehensive knowledge of federal criminal investigative laws, statutes, and policies and mastery of a wide range of methods for assessing and improving criminal and administrative investigations and investigative programs. The incumbent routinely handles the most complex subpoena requests and sensitive contractor disclosures investigated by the DCIO. The position is located in Alexandria, VA.

Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with Department of Defense (DoD) OIG. Organizational entities within the DoD are not required to conduct mandatory drug testing for DoD civilian employees moving by transfer or reassignment from one DoD Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another TDP with no break in service within the DoD, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis by the gaining Component.

Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent under GS or another pay system. Specialized experience includes extensive experience in researching, planning, directing, managing, and conducting DoD IG subpoena and DoD contractor disclosure program requirements; and coordinating investigative matters with other Federal law enforcement and security agencies. Has thorough knowledge of criminal, civil, administrative, and contract law including the Uniform Code of Military Justice; investigative techniques; rules of evidence; laws and regulations. Skill in program analyses and methodology, problem solving and independent judgement. Skill in written and oral communication to prepare comprehensive, professional, accurate subpoena and contractor disclosure reports.
