This vacancy is for multiple Supervisory Program Analyst positions in the Associate Director for Decennial Census Programs (ADDC) located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland.

This position is ELIGIBLE for telework; additional criteria will be required (e.g., supervisory approval).

This is a NONBARGAINING unit position.

Help

The individual selected for this position will:

  • Oversee staffing, strategic planning and resource allocation for assigned survey. census or other programs, and
  • Lead implementation of key aspects involved with assigned programs.
  • Supervise a subordinate staff and oversee the development and management of high-level decennial census documentation
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately, both in writing and in person

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:

For GS-14, you must have one-year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is work experience analyzing and advising management on the evaluation of the effectiveness of programs and operations and the productivity and efficiency of management. Examples of such work include: analyzing and evaluating on a quantitative/qualitative basis the effectiveness of line program operations in meeting established goals and objectives; developing procedures and systems for assessing the effectiveness of programs and/or management processes; developing, analyzing, and evaluating new or modified programs and/or management policies, regulations, goals, or objectives; evaluating and advising on organizational structures, methods, and procedures; and planning and conducting all phases of projects; supervising a staff.

Education cannot be substitued for experience at this grade level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
