Duties

The New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) Medicine Service and the University of New Mexico (UNM) School of Medicine, Department of Medicine are seeking a full-time staff physician for the Gastroenterology Section. This position is to be based at the NMVAHCS which is currently staffed by 6 gastroenterologists. Board eligible or certified in Gastroenterology and experience in teaching, patient care, research and basic endoscopic procedures, are preferred. Additionally expertise in hepatology or therapeutic endoscopy is highly desirable. The UNM GI Division currently has 12 faculty members with active research programs in IBD, Epidemiology, GI pathogens, GI Motility, Hepatology and therapeutic endoscopy. Our expanding Division offers strong collaborative research opportunities in basic science, clinical and translational research. Applicants must be academically qualified for a position at the University of New Mexico Health Science Center. Faculty track and rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
