You will work under the general supervision of the Chief of Design Services as a surveying subject matter expert. Duties involve collaboration with engineers, technicians and other professionals engaged in project development specifically emphasizing technical geomatics considerations. Geomatics includes but is not limited to land surveying, remote sensing cartography, global-navigation and related forms of earth mapping.
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal Government which includes 1.) Experience interpreting and applying tidal and/or terrestrial data to tidal monitoring AND; 2.) Experience applying project benchmarks in order to monitor construction progress AND; 3.) Experience as a Contracting Officer's Representative and/or experience monitoring government contractors' compliance AND; 4.) Experience resolving problems associated with geomatics to solve construction and/or design issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

The curriculum included differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statistics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress/strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science of physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

F. Completion of a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field (for example, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology; and at least one (1) full year of professional engineering experience that was acquired under a professional training program or under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Submit appropriate documentation to support your eligibility under these criteria.
Basic Qualification Requirements for Landscape Architect, GS-0807:
You must provide college transcripts to support educational claims.
A. Completed a full four year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree or higher degree that included a major field of study in landscape architecture or landscape design.
Or
B. Combination of education and experience -- for each year short of graduation, the applicant must have had 1 year of experience under professional leadership and guidance of such character and diversity as to be a satisfactory substitute for the required education. This experience must have included original landscape design.

C. A current registration as a land surveyor in a State, territory, or the District of Columbia obtained by written examination. Such registration must have been obtained under conditions outlined in the National Council of Engineering Examiners (NCEE) Unified Model Law for Registration of Surveyors. Applicants wishing to be considered under this provision must show evidence of registration based on successful completion of the written examinations. Registrations granted prior to adoption of a registration law with qualification requirements equivalent to the NCEE Model Law by the State, territory, or District of Columbia are not acceptable under this option. To be considered equivalent to the NCEE Model law, registration laws must include the four options listed within the NCEE Unified Model Law in the section specifying "General Requirements for Registration" as a Professional Land Surveyor.
