This position is located within Commander, Navy Region Hawaii (CNRH), Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH) Security Department, Operations Division. The position encompasses jurisdictional areas consisting of Navy properties under the control of CNRH. The employee of this position is a Department of the Navy (DoN) Security Guard and shall be a member of a rotating shift responsible for performing all aspects of security and force protection as they pertain to Navy property, facilities, personnel, material and equipment within the CNRH area of responsibility (AOR), assuring compliance with applicable laws and agency rules and regulations.
This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
Salary will be increased by the applicable cost-of-living allowance (COLA), which is subject to change without notice.

Must be able to use all security/equipment, certify and/or re-certify in the use of defensive baton techniques, watch standing, basic reaction force tactics and communications and obtain other certifications required to accomplish the duties of a security guard.
Required to receive training on the use of oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray (pepper spray) in a controlled training environment, to include the experience of receiving the spray to the facial area.
Required to receive respiratory mask fit testing and training in accordance with Office of the Chief of Naval Operations and Commander, Naval Installations Command Instructions.
Physical Demands: This work requires, on a regular and recurring basis, considerable and/or strenuous physical exertion such as lifting/dragging heavy objects over 50lbs., crouching or crawling in restrictive areas during inspection activities, defending oneself and others during a physical attack.
