Language Specialist Careers at USCIS: Information Session

The Language Services Section (LSS) is a specialized unit within U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that provides expert language services to USCIS and other components of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). LSS is staffed by federal employees who provide translation, interpretation, transcription, and accuracy review services in support of DHS mission needs.

Join our information session to learn about upcoming employment opportunities on our team in New York City! The session will provide an overview of LSS, the work performed by Language Specialists, and general information about the federal application process.

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National to apply for federal employment with USCIS.
  • This session is for informational purposes only and is not a hiring event.
  • Participation does not guarantee interviews, referral, hiring preferences, or selection.
  • LSS will not review resumes, make qualification determinations, conduct interviews, or make selections during this session.
  • Registration is required to attend. If the maximum number of tickets has been reached, you are encouraged to join the waitlist to be notified if additional tickets become available.
  • Attendees must show government-issued identification with a photograph to enter the federal building; please note that the name on your registration must match the name on your identification. Please arrive with enough time to go through security.
