The Volpe Center invites you to an information session for two GS-14 General Engineer positions on Wednesday, September 16, from 12:00 to 12:30 PM (ET).

These roles oversee and execute complex measurement, modeling, and analytical studies. Successful candidates will apply advanced data science, statistical modeling, and core engineering principles to evaluate transportation systems, fuel burn, emissions, noise, or air quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and oversee expert engineering analyses and evaluate complex design alternatives.
  • Coordinate and direct project team members to accomplish broad task objectives.
  • Plan, design, and implement qualitative and quantitative analytical frameworks.
  • Support team building, recruitment, mentoring, and performance feedback alongside leadership.
  • Author technical reports, peer-reviewed papers, and present findings to sponsors and agencies.

You possess hands-on experience in data modeling, measurement, and statistical analysis applied to transportation environmental impacts.
