Help
  • This position is located in the Energetics Manufacturing Department, Product and Process Scale-Up and Manufacturing Technology Division, Energetics Chemicals Branch (M42).
  • You will exercise judgment in resolving issues, establishing guidelines, and overseeing control systems under general supervision in support of the programs executed within the M42 branch.
  • You will be responsible for control of production programs in which the size, complexity, and importance require coordination, constant monitoring, and resource management (to include funding, materials, and personnel).
  • You will monitor general and program-specific inventory within the plant, not limited to explosive inventory, parts inventory, PPE inventory etc.
  • You will provide regular budgetary and performance reports to senior management; prepare procurement packages required for procurement of components using available procurement methods and present them to the Procurement Department for award.
  • You will prepare requests for bids and submit to prospective vendors; track vendor delivery progress to ensure on time deliveries and work closely with internal and external customers to develop "get well" plans when vendor deliveries slip,
  • You will prepare material inspection requests; ensure appropriate condition code tags are applied to incoming products; use Shop Workload Management Systems (SWMS) and other available databases as required to control material issues.
  • You will provide notification of status and receipt of items to appropriate officials to ensure prompt vendor payment or return of discrepant items; and provide close out reports on all programs.
  • You will be responsible for executing moderately complex work including production control on various production and Research and Development programs in the chemical scale-up area.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Explosive certification.

Qualifications

For the NT-03 pay band: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-02 (GS-5/8 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector supporting production controller functions by assisting in the planning of operational phases to include funding, manpower and material requests for a program.

For the NT-02 pay band: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-01 (GS-01 to GS-04 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector reviewing production requirements to assist in the preparation of procurement package and ensure compliance with procurement processes and regulations for a program.

Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For the NT-03 pay band:

Successfully completed two full years of graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled.
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.

For the NT-02 pay band:

Successful completed four years of education above high school level.
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-2 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-05 through GS-08. The NT-3 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-9 and GS-10. The full performance level is equivalent to the GS-9/10 level.
