Help
  • You will serve as an Advanced Exploitation Company Technician and are responsible for the safe handling of foreign and domestic weapons systems/subsystems and other collected exploitable materiel (CEM).
  • You will perform detailed radiographic examinations on weapons systems/subsystems, ordnance, and CEM.
  • You will read and interpret radiographs of complex foreign manufactured munition assemblies (sensors, guidance control, warhead and propulsion systems) to determine specific hazards, develop exploitation procedures and reports of analysis.
  • You will ensure correct preparation of shipping documents, materials and methods are used to ship foreign and domestic weapons systems/subsystems according to worldwide shipping laws and regulations.
  • You will use knowledge of foreign ordnance collection, correct identification, material condition and transportation configuration of environmentally distressed, post deployment weapons assemblies in a marine environment.
  • You will conduct proper operation and maintenance of equipment in support of ordnance recovery operations.
  • You will serve as Hazardous Materials Team Member when deployed.
  • You will support disassembly and exploitation of a start-of-the-art munitions.
  • You will need to obtain and maintain certification in the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Industrial Radiography and Radiation Safety Personnel (IRRSP) Program.
  • You will obtain and maintain qualification as Assistant Radiation Safety Officer (ARSO) in order to perform radiography operations while forward deployed and to assist the Command RSO as needed.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • You will be required to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-3(GS-9/10 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying technical engineering methods and practices to collect, examine (including radiography), analyze, or ship collected exploitable material (CEM) for the purpose of exploitation or technical intelligence.
