This position is located in the Energetics Manufacturing Department, Navy Weapons Division (M5).
You will provide oversight and guidance related to the safe execution of assigned manufacturing, maintenance, repair processing, handling equipment, and explosive storage.
You will provide oversight on receiving and shipping regulations, magazine inspections, magazine storage requirements, on-station transportation of explosive materials/items and hazardous goods.
You will provide oversight of CAD/PAD item segregation, TOMAHAWK cruise missile storage, DEMIL packaging, shipment, and other missile programs.
You will provide oversight on decontamination, disposal operations and verify compliance with environmental regulations.
You will evaluate OSH/explosive safety program implementation within program areas.
You will ensure buildings are compliant with all safety requirements and provide advisory opinions to resolve technical and operational problems.
You will perform staff advisory, consulting and reviewing services to management on process recommendations, safety improvements and technical matters.
You will be the lead point of contact in M5 for assessing and correcting deficiencies in assigned areas in preparation for explosive safety inspections.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
Your resume one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (NT-04) or equivalent GS level (GS-11/12) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector evaluating the manufacturing, receiving, storage, transportation, and/or disposal of explosives procedures to recommend safety improvements for defense systems policies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
