Help
  • You will provide oversight and guidance related to the safe execution of assigned manufacturing, maintenance, and repair of processing, handling equipment and explosive storage.
  • You will provide oversight on the disposal of explosive hazardous waste and materials presenting potential explosive hazards.
  • You will provide oversight of decontamination, disposal operations, and verify compliance with environmental regulations.
  • You will evaluate Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)/explosive safety program implementation within program areas.
  • You will perform staff advisory, consulting, and reviewing services to management on process recommendations, safety improvements, and technical matters.
  • You will be the lead point of contact for assessing and correcting deficiencies in assigned areas in preparation for explosive safety inspections.
  • You will provide oversight of Cartridge Actuated Devices/Propellant Actuated Devices (CAD/PAD) item segregation.
  • You will provide oversight of TOMAHAWK cruise missile storage and all variants as directed.
  • You will provide oversight on Demilitarization (DEMIL) packaging and shipment.
  • You will support a manufacturing organization.
  • You will be required to report to the duty location advertised in the announcement on a regular and reoccurring basis, but occasional telework options may be available.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical engineering direction and oversight by reviewing engineering theories and principles in the manufacturing, maintenance, or disposal of ordnance equipment to ensure explosive safety compliance.

The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $128,043).

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
