You will provide oversight and guidance related to the safe execution of assigned manufacturing, maintenance, and repair of processing, handling equipment and explosive storage.
You will provide oversight on the disposal of explosive hazardous waste and materials presenting potential explosive hazards.
You will provide oversight of decontamination, disposal operations, and verify compliance with environmental regulations.
You will evaluate Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)/explosive safety program implementation within program areas.
You will perform staff advisory, consulting, and reviewing services to management on process recommendations, safety improvements, and technical matters.
You will be the lead point of contact for assessing and correcting deficiencies in assigned areas in preparation for explosive safety inspections.
You will provide oversight of Cartridge Actuated Devices/Propellant Actuated Devices (CAD/PAD) item segregation.
You will provide oversight of TOMAHAWK cruise missile storage and all variants as directed.
You will provide oversight on Demilitarization (DEMIL) packaging and shipment.
You will support a manufacturing organization.
You will be required to report to the duty location advertised in the announcement on a regular and reoccurring basis, but occasional telework options may be available.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical engineering direction and oversight by reviewing engineering theories and principles in the manufacturing, maintenance, or disposal of ordnance equipment to ensure explosive safety compliance.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

This position is equivalent to the GS-13/14 level.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $128,043).
