Summary

You will serve as an ASSISTANT in the STAFFING AND CLASSIFICATION BRANCH of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NG-3 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-07and GS-08.The NG-2 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-05and GS-06.

Salary depends on grade selected:
NG-02: $35,470 - $57,506

Duties

Help
  • You will work with assigned Staffing and Classification Specialists to provide staffing services to assigned customers.
  • You will use the CFR, Guide to Processing Personnel Actions, OPM Guidance, IOPs/SOPs, Demonstration Project guidance, and other applicable references to ensure that personnel actions are submitted and processed in compliance with law, rule and reg.
  • You will ensure all personnel actions are accurate according to direction from managers and Staffing Specialists.
  • You will be responsible for coordinating the pre-employment processes for new hires.
  • You will be responsible for file maintenance for Staffing case files such as recruitments, other personnel actions, and position descriptions.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate:
For the NG-03: at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NG-02 (GS-05/6 Equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing human resources assistance work to support an organization's personnel programs.

For the NG-02: at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NG-02 (GS-01/4 Equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing human resources clerical functions for an organization.

    • This education must have been obtained in an accredited business or technical school, junior college, college, or university where the institution normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent for admission.
    • One year of undergraduate full-time academic study is defined as, 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours.
    • For study at a business or technical school, 36 weeks of study (20+ classroom hours per week) is comparable to 1 academic year above high school.
