You will provide technical expertise leadership on medium caliber aircraft gun systems within the In-Service Engineering and Logistics Branch.
You will be Lead Technician in the NAVAIR Guns group, operating in the capacity of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the technical requirements related to repair, overhaul, conversion, and inventory management of 20-30mm cannons.
You will develop new concepts an uses of new material and hardware for Airborne Weapons Gun Systems.
You will develop plans and procedures to account for newly emerging ideas and may have to defend their ideas and proposals on controversial matters.
You will be the process owner of all live fire test and evaluation procedures including weapon system specific SOPs, pre-fire checks, post-fire checks, and ensure the accuracy of data collected meets the requirements of the test plan.
You will direct and coordinate all efforts related to the live firing of NAVAIR AGS assets by overseeing a team of technicians during test efforts.
You will provide expert level advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, peers, and sponsors on specific technical aspects of Naval Minor and Medium Caliber gun systems, and communicate with Program Managers, Department leadership and the Fleet.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing, developing, and utilizing engineering methods and procedures to assess resource requirements and provide technical direction on testing, repair, and troubleshooting of airborne gun weapon systems to ensure operational readiness.
