Help
  • You will develop equipment technical specifications and documentation including maintenance, repair, and packaging instructions to support weapon programs.
  • You will represent the organization as a Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation (PHST) logistics technical expert, on and offsite, both ashore and afloat.
  • You will write technical documentation including maintenance, repair, packaging and use instructions in accordance with Navy policy and the rules of grammar, punctuation and spelling.
  • You will plan, develop, coordinate and integrate logistics support for assigned equipment throughout the equipment?s life cycle.
  • You will use proficiency in reading engineering drawings, and knowledge of mechanical systems to develop maintenance/repair instructions for handling equipment and containers.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Life cycle logistics Level 1. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Per E.O. 14043, selectee(s) must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by 11/22/2021 or date of employment (which ever comes later) except in limited circumstances where an exception is approved due to a disability or sincerely held religious beliefs.

Qualifications

For the NT-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-03 (GS-9/10 Equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Developing or test of ordnance handling equipment for compliance with safety standards for weapons programs.

For the NT-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-02 (GS-5/8 Equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Assisting with the development or testing of ordnance handling equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Education

Education may be substituted for experience as follows:

NT-04:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related.

Education may be substituted for experience as follows:

NT-03:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related.
