Duties

Help
  • You will serves as an expert with responsibilities that contribute to research, development and programming of analytical tools that support various Naval ammunition portfolios.
  • You will be responsible for supporting the Navy's Ordnance Inventory Program by developing scalable software systems.
  • You will analyze complex data by the use of analytic algorithms and technologies; data mining to extract information from existing databases.
  • You will coordinate initiatives by developing monthly and quarterly metrics.
  • You will provide expertise in the fields of software design, and embedded systems.
  • You will solve technical problems that are not covered by established procedures; independently interpret, organize, execute and coordinate initiatives dealing with unique and complex problems requiring development of novel approaches and concepts.
  • You will lead team efforts on certain projects and mentor junior team members.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-03 (GS-9/10 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector using analytical, evaluative, and problem solving techniques necessary to assess program development and data analytics work.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education

The following education may be substituted for specialized experience at the NT-04:
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

This position has been designated as a Cyber Workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) role of (Software Engineering/Development) proficiency level (Intermediate) and, as a condition of employment, the incumbent of the position is required to maintain qualifications in accordance with DON Cyber Workforce Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2."

The incumbent participate in a continuous learning (CL) program as described in SECNAVINST 5239.20A and SECNAV M-5239.2. An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous learning must be documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.

The incumbent must obtain the required credentials within 12 months of appointment and maintain those credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for DCWF role of (621-Software Engineering/Development) proficiency level (Intermediate). For more information, please review SECNAV M-5239.2 Chapter 3, paragraph b (1) (g) 1.

This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
