Summary

You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the In-Service Engineering Branch of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-11 and GS-12.

Duties

Help
  • You will provide logistics support, technical assistance, guidance, and direct logistics program management for the Program Office and the Medium Caliber Integrated Product Team (IPT) within the Program Office.
  • You will provide logistics support, technical assistance, guidance, and direct logistics program management to the Aircraft Guns Systems (AGS) Assistant Program Manager for Logistics (APML) office.
  • You will direct the movement of assets ensuring compliance by the Department of Defense (DOD) and Navy acquisition policy, AGS specific maintenance and administrative policies.
  • You will assist in the development and review of Joint Deficiency Reporting System (JDRS) requirements.
  • You will assist in the development of Naval Aviation Maintenance Policy/Naval Ordnance Management Policy (NAMP/NOMP) changes.
  • You will provide support as the Logistics Management Specialist (LMS) on all logistics topics, issues and concerns for the Medium Caliber Guns portion of the AGS portfolio.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Life Cycle Logistics Level II. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower pay band NT-03 (GS-9/10 Equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing and conducting studies of program business practices and procedures in order to support the improved development and maintenance of the integrated logistics for gun weapons systems.

Education

  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

  • 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
