Duties

  • Responsible for the managerial tasks in the programmatic and organizational area.
  • Responsible for compliance with occupational safety, health, environmental, and energy standards, orders, rules, and regulations applicable to the area of responsibility.
  • Creates an atmosphere of safety consciousness within the workplace and ensures safe work practices in a safe work environment.
  • This position is non-supervisory; however, the incumbent is expected to model excellence in interacting with employees, promoting their welfare, safety, ensuring fair treatment and promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Managerial responsibility extends to improvement in efficiency, cost efficiency, and timeliness of performance.
  • Responsible for the managerial tasks in the management of agency security and safeguards program to ensure effectiveness including; organizational management through development and implementation of functional responsibilities.
  • Provides for the implementation and evaluation of applicable occupational safety and health requirements, management and advancement, and treatment of employees directly or indirectly supervised.
  • Managerial responsibility extends to improvement in program effectiveness, cost efficiency, and timeliness of performance.

Conditions of employment

  • The salary range for the GS-15 listed on the vacancy announcement is equivalent to the locality pay area of the Rest of U.S. (RUS); the selectee's final salary will be set based on their duty location.
  • Selectee may remain at their current duty location depending on assignment. Pay will vary by geographic location. Selectee may receive Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel allowances.

  • This is a temporary promotion not-to-exceed 1 year.

Qualifications

Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.

To qualify for the GS-15 level:

Specialized experience includes providing expert advice and counsel to senior leadership on budget planning, budget execution, budget analysis, acquisition and resource management; experience and extensive knowledge of the substantive nature of NASA programs and activities, NASA missions, policies, and objectives; and experience in assessing program execution, improving organizational effectiveness and efficiency by applying management principles, processes, analytical and evaluative methods and techniques.

You must meet time-in-grade requirements, three months after competitive appointment restrictions, and qualifications requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
