Duties

Help

As a Public Health Advisor, you will:

  • Plan, develop, and implement public health programs in collaboration with local, state, and international governments and various public, non-profit, and private and health-related organizations.
  • Manage and oversee funding/budgets and a variety of grants, cooperative agreements, contracts, and other awards including initiation, administration, award, monitoring, evaluation, coordination, and close-out.
  • Serve as the principal program representative and provide program expertise, guidance, and leadership on unusually difficult and complex programs.
  • Draft testimonies, policies, responses to inquiries, and/or financial statements for use in hearings and executives reviews, and to address concerns by grantees, contractors, and other concerned citizens.
  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing program plans and data sets consistent with funding requirements and national initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Term appointments may be shortened or extended up to a maximum of four years based on the needs of the agency without further competition. Subsequent employment for CDC positions must be through the appropriate competitive process or special employment program hiring authorities.

MINIMUM QUALS:
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service to include experience in providing management and operations or technical advice and assistance in the management and implementation of public health programs.

This position is being filled through Direct Hire Authority for this occupation and is open to all US Citizens.
