Duties

Help
  • Represent the Command and defends/advocates assigned programs with higher echelons and other Federal agencies.
  • Formulate and develops Army Sustainment Command (ASC) goals, objectives, and policies regarding Personnel Operations.
  • Supervise the functional responsibility for a portion of the volunteer/management-directed deployment missions.
  • Prepare and/or approves responses to Command and higher headquarters taskers in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Gather data and provides input on special projects.
  • Provide guidance to management officials and senior specialists concerning Defense Personnel Management Program (DPMAP), Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) and Total Army Performance Evaluation System (TAPES) performance issues.
  • Responsible for the delegated supervisory authorities and responsibilities (i.e., assigning work, adjusting schedules, interviewing candidates, resolving complaints, disciplinary measures, identifying training, and developing performance standards.
  • Oversee and monitors Command personnel administration to include recruitment strategies, staffing guidance and options, methods and procedures, and preparation and submission of requests for personnel actions (RPAs).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as Providing oversight on all Human Resources (HR) personnel matters (i.e., set priorities of workload, creating/evaluating employees performance standards, interview and make selections for vacant positions, resolve grievances, and identify training needs) to maximize team effectiveness and meet deadlines; Gathering data and provides input on special projects (i.e., reorganizations and restructuring, managing the Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDAs) and coordinating with the union); Conducting analyses to develop strategic plans and policies for HR programs; Presenting staffing recommendations and strategies for contingency operations (civilian deployments); Providing recommendations/alternative solutions to complex human resource (HR) issues; and Preparing project papers and staff reports on projects and initiatives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). If you are a current, Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade requirement. In addition, if your step reflects '00', you must include your current salary for each position.
