Summary

Duties

Help
  • You will serve as the Branch Manager of one of the Surface Systems Safety Branch (E41, E42, E43)
  • You will be responsible for providing leadership to a team of engineers, scientists, technicians, analysts, and support personnel to support and sustain the safety programs of weapon/energetic systems, vehicles and ship platforms programs
  • You will supervise subordinate supervisors, team leads, administrative, technical, and engineering professional staff including subject matter experts
  • You will lead, mentor, and direct a technical, administrative, skilled trades and professional engineering staff and provide for their training and development.
  • You will prepare technical reports, plans, schedules and proposals; and present technical data.
  • You will determine methods to analyze and monitor costs, forecasting budgets to ensure sound fiscal management.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS 11/12) or pay band (NT-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector overseeing the evaluation of business or operational processes to improve the organizational effectiveness and efficiency of an organization.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. The salary range shown in the announcement represents all of the positions within the band, including GS-14 equivalent (high grade) positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be
limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $ 113,465).
