Supervise the work of the organization. Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the Operations Director's Office (HP21).
Supervise the management and integration of operations activities required to support human space flight.
Manage and integrate flight products required to configure flight and ground systems, train flight crews and ground support personnel, conduct mission operations, and accomplish mission objectives.
Plan, direct, and control the activities of the ground support team, including certifying flight control team members, for initial proficiency and subsequent periodic recertification.
Direct overall development of mission design crew procedures, training, data acquisition requirements and technical mission documentation for nominal and contingency spacecraft operations.
Conduct post-flight mission evaluations to ensure that mission objectives were met, problem areas were identified, and corrective action taken.

Qualifications
In addition to the basic education requirement, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, GS-14, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.
To qualify for the GS-15:
Specialized experience includes performing duties such as development and review of integrated flight controller and flight crew operating procedures and checklists; integration of operations activities required to support human spaceflight missions; and Post flight evaluation of the operation and performance of payload hardware and software, ground and on-orbit systems impact, and/or the procedures utilized by the flight controllers and the spacecraft crew.

Basic Education Requirement: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major study in engineering, physical science, mathematics, life sciences, computer science, or other field of science. Degrees in engineering technology are not considered to be qualifying for this position.
