Defining and executing the total breadth of network operations to ensure continuous availability and accessibility of the organization?s Local Area network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN).
Developing and implementing complex configuration management plans.
Leading major network projects to include re-establishing connectivity, accommodating disabled employees, and implementing telecommunications support activities.
Analyzing business needs and practices in order to define customer requirements for new or modified systems.
Monitoring network to ensure optimum performance.
Troubleshooting and resolving network problems.
Ensuring rigorous application of information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as experience in all facets of troubleshooting and restoral of network routers and switches or network load balancers and firewalls. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

There is no substitution of education for thequalifying experienceat the GG-12 grade level.

This is an Information Security (INFOSEC) position. In accordance with DoD 8570.1-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selectee must meet Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selected must meet Information Assurance Certification standards. Selectee must have an approved waiver prior to placement in this position or achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of IA duties. Level 2 certification is required prior to be authorizing unsupervised privileged access.
Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management. Incumbent may be subject to varying work shifts and work shift rotations for mission support requirement of 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
