Duties

Help
  • Prepares surveillance plans tailored to a level of detail appropriate to the size, complexity and criticality of a supplier's facility and contracts. Plans address both system and process level surveillance methods.
  • Performs risk assessments and analyses, relying on relevant customer, supplier performance, and Government data, and assigns risk ratings to quality systems and key processes.
  • Prepares, maintains, and retains plans, records, data, reports, correspondence, and other documentation as required by contracts, customer instructions, and current Defense Contract Management Agency policy.
  • Selects and describes tailored risk handling methods for surveillance of processes at the process level (e.g. process proofing, product audits, and data collection and analysis).

DCMA Permanent Employee Applicants: Current DCMA employees will be converted to a Term Position Not To Exceed 2 Years, your appointment may be extended up to a maximum of 8 years. This position may be made permanent without further competition to those candidates that have non-competitive status.

Non-DCMA Permanent Employee Applicants: You will be considered for a Term Position Not To Exceed 2 Years, your appointment may be extended up to a maximum of 8 years. This position may be made permanent without further competition to those candidates that have non-competitive status.

QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized Experience required: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-09. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience providing risk based surveillance of production, supplier quality systems and processes from contract award to contract completion. Evaluate contractor's compliance to contract requirements for quality assurance systems; including conducting audits, and technical data analysis. Independent performance of quality assurance principles, used to audit, inspect and accept specialized and unique processes during the evaluation of various manufacturing of aircraft structures and components.


Education can be substituted for experience.

  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • This position is designated as an Acquisition position and is subject to the provisions of the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act and associated DoD and DCMA policies and guidelines. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level II in Career Category Production, Quality and Manufacturing within 24 months of entrance on duty.
