Physical Effort: The incumbent works from ladders, scaffolding and platforms, and where the parts of the systems worked on are in hard to reach places. The work requires considerable standing, climbing, stooping, bending, stretching and working in cramped, tiring, awkward and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up tools, equipment and parts that weigh 20-40 pounds. Occasionally may lift moderately heavy objects weighing over 40 pounds with assistance.
Working Conditions: The incumbent works both inside and outside, sometimes in bad weather and in areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty and greasy. May work on scaffolding or cranes at heights of 30 or more feet or in close quarters such as manholes, attics, or aboard ships.
