Duties

Help
  • Performs intermediate level carpentry, electrical work, painting, masonry, plumbing, pipe fittings and welding repairs.
  • Operates pick-up and up to 5-ton dump truck with gross vehicle weight of 28,000 lbs. and maximum load capacity of 14,270 lbs. to transport equipment, parts, supplies, gravel, rock, sand, etc.
  • Performs grounds/facility maintenance across the installation using mobile industrial machinery.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision. Duties such as: measure, cut and replace wood boards and decking; replace minor plumbing fixture to include toilets and fixed leaky faucets; performed minor masonry work laying bricks; painted surfaces with brush and roller; and performed a variety of ground maintenance activities such as shoveling snow. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Physical Effort: Heavy physical effort is used through constant bending, reaching, turning, and moving of hands, arms, feet, and legs to handle different sets of controls. Considerable strain is caused by constant vibration and jerking and jolting from operations over rough surfaces. Frequently required to work in awkward, strained, or uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 75 pounds; occasionally handles heavier items.
  • Working Conditions: Work is performed in all types of weather on flat and sloping terrain. Exposed to injury while exposed to weather (e.g., frostbite) or when equipment overturns. Subject to working in extremely low temperatures and high winds. Subject to constant noise, vibration, dust, fumes, and fatigue from constant manipulation of controls.
