About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Rucker is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Duties

Help
  • Review, book, manage, track, result and close all referrals in support of the Fort Rucker Patient Service Area.
  • Coordinate care with patient, Military Treatment Facility and local healthcare providers and/or staff.
  • Contact patient, provider and/or staff to obtain referral report/results or status or request for referral.
  • Enter, retrieve, and update data utilizing various automated healthcare systems such as Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application, Composite Health Care System, and Referral Management System.
  • Record, retrieve, correct, merge, query or print data and/or reports.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes scheduling appointments, use of automated equipment to enter, retrieve, and update data, and an understanding of medical terminology and the referral process. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
