As a Account Executive, you will:
- Monitor the activities of HUD-insured healthcare facilities to assess and evaluate financial performance, program compliance, and to evaluate the risks posed to FHA
- Work with lenders, operators, borrowers and other program participants to mitigate identified risks.
- Assist customers and their agents with routine business activities including interpretation of FHA guidelines.
- Develop changes in policies and procedures to improve customer service or better control FHA's risks.
- Coordinate with state health agencies and mortgagees in the monitoring of customers.

The Office of Housing provides vital public services through its nationally administered programs. It oversees the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), the largest mortgage insurer in the world, and regulates important parts of the housing industry. The Office of Housing also helps ensure consumers can access housing counseling and provides affordable rental housing through its Multifamily housing program. The Office of Housing is committed to helping all Americans obtain safe, decent affordable housing.

The Office of Healthcare Programs (OHP) administers FHA's healthcare programs, the Section 232 Mortgage Insurance for Residential Care Facilities and Section 242 Mortgage Insurance for Hospitals programs. Both programs enable the affordable financing and refinancing of healthcare facility projects and are integral to HUD’s community development mission.  OHP’s programs assist hospitals and residential care facilities (such as nursing homes and assisted living facilities) to more reasonably finance construction, renovation, acquisition, or refinancing projects.  These programs strengthen local communities, improve access to healthcare, and decrease overall healthcare costs.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

For the GS-13, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

- Analyzing financial statements and financial performance of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or multi-family apartment projects with more than 20 units.; AND
- Evaluating risk related to quality of care or physical condition of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or multi-family apartment projects with more than 20 units.; AND
- Evaluating regulations and policies to ensure correct implementation.

Time-in-Grade:
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment:
Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency
