Summary

The Judges Compensation and Retirement Division (JCRD) is responsible for managing all personnel actions and the monthly payroll process for retired Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court and all Federal Judges of the United States Courts. In addition, the Division is responsible for managing multiple unique retirement systems for all retired justices and judges of the United States, and the survivor annuity system for their spouses.

Duties

Help

The incumbent of this position serves as a Program Analyst performing a variety of logistical, analytical and administrative tasks for the JCRD. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Evaluating and coordinating standard office procedures as it relates to improving operation efficiency and making recommendations to improve division processes and services with technology enhancements.
  2. Assisting with administrative and logistic/planning support for the division's benefits and retirement education program initiatives.
  3. Preparing and coordinating various division correspondence to all active judges, retired justices, retired judges and survivor annuitants.
  4. Coordinating internal division operations to include space and move coordination, IT custodial officer and property and inventory management.
  5. Responsible for preparing analytical reports and processing annual certifications.
  6. Responsible for division records management and coordination with the National Records Center and Office of Personnel Management.
  7. Assisting with administrative correspondence and responses related to division inquiries from both internal and external requesters.
  8. Performing special projects as assigned by the division chief.

  3. All new AO employees will be required to complete a FBI fingerprint-based national criminal database and records check and pass a public trust suitability check.
  4. All new AO employees must identify a financial institution for direct deposit of pay before appointment.
  5. You will be required to serve a trial period if selected for a first-time appointment to the Federal government, transferring from another Federal agency, or serving as a first-time supervisor. Failure to successfully complete the trial period may result in termination of employment.
  6. If appointed to a temporary position, management may have the discretion of converting the position to permanent depending upon funding and staffing allocation.
  7. Relocation expenses may be provided, but only if authorized by the Director of the AO.

Qualifications

Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience in ALL of the following:

  1. Providing project management, program logistics coordination, and analytical review of office processes;
  2. Using information technology applications to develop, automate and prepare spreadsheets, queries, status reports and database enhancements to improve office efficiency; AND
  3. Managing records, composing correspondence for and communicating with high level executives.

Desired but not required: A Bachelor's degree
