May work 10 hour shifts or alternate work schedules (rotating, evenings, and weekends) to provide continuity of service.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants who meet at least one of the following requirements may qualify for positions at the GS-6 level -
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level obtained in either the public or private sector. Such experience would include a working knowledge of the methods, techniques and practices appropriate to medical technology and their practical application to clinical laboratory work; skill in calibrating and operating analytical instruments sufficient to independently perform recurring tests and analyses; & understanding of related disciplines such as microbiology, chemistry, physiology anatomy and their relationship to medical technology.
Applicants who meet at least one of the following requirements may qualify for positions at the GS-7 level -
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 level obtained in either the public or private sector. Such experience would include use of laboratory manuals regarding techniques, procedures, reagents, stains, controls, normal values, etc. and setting up collection of blood and other specimens.
One full year of graduate education in an area of study directly related to the work of this position.
A combination of education and specialized experience listed above. One year of graduate education is equivalent to 18 semester hours unless the school has determined otherwise.
