* Primary function is to make eligibility determinations for VA healthcare which requires an extensive knowledge of VA laws, directives, policies and procedures.
* Responsible for running data reports for unverified status of applications, incomplete encounter management errors due to any administrative data input.
* Updating demographic information.
* Verifying eligibility/entitlement for healthcare benefits for all applicants.
* Using various methods including income assessments, military discharge documents, computer hospital inquiry (HINQ), Veterans Information Solutions (VIS). or by other means
* Communication with VA Regional Office or VA Records Processing Centers.
* Advises Veterans of their eligibility for VA Health care including whether they are eligible or not.
* Enters data into Vista.
* Reviews reports, record, and statistical computations for accuracy and propriety.
* Reviews the Incomplete Encounter Management Module (IEMM) report in order to clean up any discrepancies in administrative date that would prevent the transmission of encounters.
* Reviews, verifies, and analyses date submitted for consistency with financial and program objectives and adherence to VA directives.
* Admits and discharges patients from inpatient settings.
* Maintains accurate log of beneficiaries checking in for services in the Emergency Department (ED) and accurately logged their disposition.
