As a Supervisory Fish Biologist within the Great Lakes Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:
- Manage Eastern Basin Branch; identify broad research objectives and priorities for Branch's research program; supervise employees; ensure delivery of required reports and products; optimize productivity and allocation of resources; ensures a balanced branch budget.
- Provide leadership and guidance in research conducted within the Branch and Center. Lead staff in developing science frameworks and research initiatives on a large interdisciplinary scale to address ecosystem questions strongly focused on invasive species, food web changes, or habitat restoration.
- Coordinate research activities with companion Branches in the Center, and with Federal, State and local agencies, tribal entities, and universities.
- Serve as a member of the Center's Policy Management Council, which provides advice and recommendations for the Center Director on all aspects of Center management, including policy formulation, research direction, budgeting, personnel and operations. Carries out Council decisions and serves as Acting Center Director (CD) when directed. Promotes the mission and vision of the GLSC within the Center and to outside partners.
- May operate a motor vehicle as an incidental driver.
