About the Position: Serves as environmental program coordinator and Subject Matter Expert (SME) with authority and responsibility for providing technical environmental advice in regard to program planning, development, execution, and evaluation for Arlington National Cemetery.
Serve as the Environmental Compliance Program Manager for Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) and Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home National Cemetery (SAHNC).
Work with a variety of environmental programs such as water/wastewater, air quality, solid/hazardous waste, compliance assessments, pollution prevention, natural resources, site remediation, stewardship and sustainability.
Administer, monitor, and maintain records to ensure ANC is in full compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and standards
Plan and establish short and long-term objectives for assigned environmental programs.
Provide expert technical advice and assistance and makes recommendations to the Superintendent and area Supervisors to improve the environmental program.
Review policies, directives, regulations, and guidance from Department of the Army, US Environmental Protection Agency, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, and state and local environmental agencies to determine impacts on area activities.
Serve as environmental liaison between Arlington National Cemetery and outside agencies.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing standards for environmental functions; monitoring compliance with environmental regulation; and conducting on-site visits to evaluate effectiveness of environmental programs.
