  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires rotating shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • Employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment. This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • Incumbent must attend the United States Army Military Police School Civilian Police Academy and successfully graduate within 12 months of hire date unless a current approved waiver/exception is gained from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
  • Incumbent must pass all requirements including weapons qualifications, first aid/CPR, National Incident Management System, weapons certification, NCIC-III, Army Law Enforcement Reporting and Tracking Systems, and Incident Command System.
  • Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of an individual.
  • Incumbent must wear a uniform and regulatory required associated gear (to include body armor).
  • Incumbent must pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire date and annually thereafter.
  • "May" be subject to a one year probationary period unless requirement previously met as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1. Maintaining law and order to protect life and property; 2. Vetting visitors for access to controlled areas; 3. Patrolling assigned areas address security breaches or respond to incidents; and 4. Motor vehicle law enforcement including directing traffic and issuing citations for violations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06)
