Duties

Help

You will serve as a Supply Technician and be responsible for be responsible for searches for required information; reconstructs records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

  • Being a backup to print, sort and distribute material release orders and special processing requests.
  • Printing, sorting and distributing material release orders and special processing requests.
  • Collecting and maintaining files of documents supporting transactions impacting the receipt of material into inventory, or status of items received at the Inventory Control Point.
  • Assembling folders with contract and previous receipt transactions for inspectors, for items received from vendors/contractors and pending inspection.
  • Verifying inspector notations, due ins, contract line items, and posting items into inventory.
  • Assisting with requests for documentation in support of audits and statistical samples
  • Reviewing process and desk guides and implementing processes into daily work. Ability to adjust and implement process changes.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for this position, you MUST meet all of the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
MINIMUM QUALIFYING SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, an applicant's one full year of specialized experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful job performance.

To qualify at the GS-06 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

Specialized experience must include the following:

  • Experience processing supply transactions; using an automated supply system to conduct searches or process transactions; and performing records functions in inventory, storage, cataloging, and receipt and control processes.

To qualify at the GS-05: In order to qualify for this position at the GS-05 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of the minimum qualifying specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-04 level in the federal service. Examples of the minimum qualifying specialized experience equal to the GS-04 level include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis:

  • Specialized experience requirements at the GS-05 level are the same, just with more supervision.
