Duties

Help

Assists in the planning, developing, and administering programs to support service member and family resiliency and readiness. Plans, coordinates, and executes a comprehensive community center program with activities and opportunities that include the four core program areas of personal/professional development, family and life skills, performing arts, and recreation/leisure. Activities and programs will focus on personal growth and development, developing creative awareness and cultural exposure, skill advancement, and developing/sustaining positive relationships while also ensuring that each core program meets Air Force standards. Responsible for developing and executing additional planned activities and programs that includes but is not limited to AFSVC centrally managed and funded programs, programs for special interest groups, special and joint community undertakings that are both recurring and non-recurring, base-wide special events, at least one semiannual market-driven event promoting community and offering frequent/regular cooperative programs with Health Promotion, Family Advocacy, and the Military and Family Readiness Center. Assists in the financial planning for such programs. Maximizes the use of facilities, services, and other resources consistent with the military mission and coordinates facility use while also properly maintaining the inside/outside of the community center facilities. Identifies the need for facility repairs, equipment, and maintenance requirements. Conducts needs and interest assessments to determine programming and instructional class offerings. Establishes single event surveys to determine program effectiveness and customer satisfaction for all major events. Works with community center manager and marketing to formulate event marketing plans, develop an annual calendar for events and publicize activities. Gathers, monitors, and maintains data to complete reports. Assists in maintaining the NAF and APF budgets. Assists with Community Center administration.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Qualifying Experience:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two-years work experience in recreation or a related field. Must possess knowledge of personal and professional development, performing arts, leisure and recreation, and family activities. Basic computer skills and knowledge required. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to work a varied schedule which includes evenings and weekends. Must possess a valid state driver's license. Performs duties with minimal supervision. Must be courteous and exercise diplomacy and tact when dealing with patrons and maintains a harmonious working relationship with staff. Consistently performs duties in accordance with appropriate established instructions and directives.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
