This National Guard position is for a FLIGHT SERVICES SPECIALIST TITLE 32 INDEFINITE, Position Description Number D1458000 and is part of the NH 157th Operations Group, National Guard.
This vacancy is to gather applications that may or may not result in a referral or selection.
Responsible for coordinating and maintaining liaison with military, federal, and local agencies concerning airspace utilization, flying operations, aircraft emergencies, search and rescue operations ,and natural disasters. This full- performance level position provides direct support to unit and other military and civilian aircrews during scheduled and unscheduled flying and ground activities. The incumbent works independently on standard and extended and/or rotating shifts to provide aircrews with information and assistance necessary for planning and conducting safe flight operations.
This is an INDEFINITE excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Qualifications
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is a Title 32 excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership in the military grade/rank listed in the announcement. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have the experience that demonstrates the knowledge of the transportation functions for this position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 12 months of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07). Experience, education, or training in mission planning for preflight, in-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions. Receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems.
It is not necessary for applicants to possess the MOS/AFSC listed as compatible to the position in order to apply, however applicant must meet the qualifications for the position.
