Duties

Help

As a, PROGRAM SUPPORT ASSISTANT, GS-0301-07, you will Assists in the office administration and business operations for the directorate by providing direct staff support for the DPCA. Assists higher level DPCA employees in providing services to customers of the GTC in 1 or more of the following core DPCA functions; Human resource assistance work for military customers through work within strength management, personnel services, processing of personnel actions, development of promotion packets, etc., Human resource assistance work for civilian personnel assigned to the GTC through work related to employee development, initiating personnel actions, technical support for time and attendance, payroll, and incentive awards, provide DEERS/RAPIDS support by providing information on operating status, perform transactions, and issue identification cards to include Common Access Cards, postal operations support which may include receiving, sorting, and issuing incoming and outgoing mail.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians.

PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation.

Military Grades: Enlisted: E4 thru E6

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07- Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, in any position that requires compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., must have progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience interpreting regulations, policies or law and providing guidance.

Education
