The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angeles Air Force Base is searching for a Budget Analyst to support SSC/FMA (NH-0560-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).

Description:
Positions are available in the 0560 (Budget Analyst) series. Applicants will be considered for multiple openings across SSC/FMA. Ideal Candidate:
Duties
- Plan, organize, and direct financial activities ensuring compliance with law, regulation, and customer needs.
- Provide analysis and decision support for budget formulation, justification, and execution.
- Interpret and assess the impact of Congressional legislation on budgets.
- Implement financial policies and ensure fiscal law compliance.
- Support program acquisition and provide recommendations for cost-effective resource allocation.
- Manage assigned accounts and brief senior leadership.

Qualifications
- Specialized experience in financial management, budget formulation, execution, or analysis.
- Knowledge of budgetary methods, practices, policies, and systems (e.g., CCaR, CRIS, DTIMS, WAWF).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Effective written and verbal communication, including senior-level briefings.



Key Responsibilities:
1. Knowledge of the policies, principles, concepts, guidance, procedures, techniques, and methodologies pertaining to budget formulation and financial management.
2. Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of DoD and Air Force organizations pertaining to budget formulation and financial management to provide guidance to subordinate units.
3. Knowledge of revolving funds and annual and multiple-year appropriations; their characteristics, uses, applications, and data structures.
4. Knowledge of the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution process and its products, terminology, and guidance documents, including DoD budget and financial management regulations, OMB Circulars, and Congressional legislation.
5. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
6. Ability to plan, organize, mentor, motivate, and direct subordinate teammates in the use of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usages to effectively complete assignments.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • May be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework".
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • PCS /relocation funding is authorized.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
  • Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
  • This is a Financial Management Level (1, 2, or 3) Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d.
  • This position is designated a CRITICAL APDP position
