Duties

Help
  • Directs the overall management of medical support for the Air National Guard installation to include tenant unit(s) and GSU(s).
  • Provides medical management and advisory services that contribute substantially to the plans, policies, decisions, and objectives of senior management.
  • Directs work to be accomplished by the base medical and bioenvironmental programs, ensuring each is developed and implemented according to applicable regulations.
  • Ensures implementation and compliance with Occupational Health for dual and non-dual status personnel.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, monitors and reports Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) for Wing, tenant unit(s) and GSU personnel.
  • Implements the medical portion of the Designed Operational Capability (DOC) Statement of the unit.
  • Interprets, implements and administers laws, procedures, regulations and directives pertaining to various Air National Guard (Surgeon General or Medical) stand-alone, networked, or web-based medical systems.
  • Serves as the installation’s technical advisor regarding ANG medical capabilities related to “Homeland Defense” (HLD) and Military Support to Civil Authorities (MSCA).
  • Serves as the installation subject matter expert and problem solver for medical and dental health benefits regulated and outlined by the National Defense Authorization Act and through the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Health Affairs.
  • Represents and speaks on behalf of the Wing Commander with regard to ANG Medical Management issues with representatives of the NGB, the Office of the Adjutant General/Joint State Headquarters, and other military components.
  • Serves as the Medical Group’s active member of the Wing Financial Management Board (FMB).
  • Functions as the Wing lead Health Professional Recruiting/Retention Liaison Officer.
  • Manages all health services activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

The Human Resources Officer (HRO) is the final approval for all ETP waivers. If approved, the memorandum will be returned to you and then submitted with your application.

To meet the required compatible military assignment 041A3, applicant must have one of the following:

Graduate Degree in Accounting, Artificial Intelligence, Business Administration/Management, Data Science, Economics, Emergency Management, Finance, Health Administration, Health Information Management/Technology, Health Management and Policy, Health Services Administration, Healthcare Administration/Management, Hospital Administration, Information Systems Management, Marketing, Statistics, or other closely related degree.

Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Business Administration/Management, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Science, Economics, Emergency Management, Finance, Health Administration, Health Information Technology, Health Management and Policy, Health Services Administration, Healthcare Administration/Management, Hospital Administration, Information Systems Management, Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Management Science, Marketing, Organizational Psychology/Behavior, Public Affairs/Policy, Statistics/Operations Research, or other closely-related degree. To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. Training: Completion of the basic services administration technical course is mandatory for AFSC 041A3.
