Duties

Help
  • You will work under the guidance of higher-level housing specialists and as a member of the housing team, ensures each tenant has all required documentation and processes paperwork.
  • You will research, interpret, and analyze legal and lease transaction documents to ensure compliance.
  • You will serve as a member of a team administering the off-base housing services program.
  • You will for Unaccompanied Housing, and work as a member of a team administering management of billeting.
  • You will perform change of occupancy pre-final, termination, and assignment inspections of units.
  • You will determine requirements and maintains data for new or replacement furniture, appliances and equipment in accordance with established criteria or authorizations.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.

  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Specialized Experience must include:
1) Analyzing and measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of programs, work methods, management processes and/ or administrative procedures;
2) Interpreting housing regulations, policies, and procedures to resolve program issues related to housing operations and facility maintenance;
3) Developing and recommending revisions to established processes and procedures;
4) Utilizing automated computer programs to maintain database and prepare reports.

Master's or equivalent graduate degree

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

The Office of the Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) limits the number of Bahrain based DoD personnel accompanied tours. Dependent entry approval from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command is required for all accompanied tours prior to extending the final job offer and prior to issuing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. Accompanied tours are not guaranteed.

Physical Demands: The work, which involves frequent travel and inspections in and about project facilities, requires some physical exertion while standing for long period, walking on uneven surfaces, and bending, reaching, stretching or similar activities.

Work Environment: The work involves everyday risks or discomforts. The work area is usually adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. There are scheduled visits to housing units or facilities where there may be occasional exposure to dirt, dust or other irritants caused by repair or maintenance activities and external weather conditions at the times of inspections.

Tour of duty will be 24 MONTH ACCOMPANIED AND 18 MONTH UNACCOMPANIED.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.

Military Spouses and Family Members may apply 30 days before their anticipated arrival date. However, they will not receive preference until arrival at the foreign location. Additional documentation may be required prior to granting preference.
