As an, Supply Technician, GS-2005-07, you will perform routine and nonroutine material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance, or production shops. Responsible for local management of decentralized and decontrolled items which requires technical intervention to assure effective supply support and economy. Items are less stable or standardized and do not lend themselves to routine control through the use of the computer and variable supply level formulas. Plans requirements, both quantitative and monetary, to satisfy customer needs. Authorize procurement and is responsible for funds management.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered; experience with basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions; experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:GS-07 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-05 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment; experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts; experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management; experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda; experience controlling supply stocks and accounting for equipment, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures; experience with completing complex supply transactions; and/or providing supply operations support; experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues; experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques; experience with inventory management supply system; experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions.
TEMPORARY PROMOTION- For Title 32 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If a permanent employee in the Title 32 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status AND return to their previous Title 32 position once incumbent returns from military duty. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her reemployment rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition.
INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-For Current Title 5 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour).
