Summary

Duties

Help
  • Coordinate cross-cutting projects and tasks on complex activities and issues pertaining to the Medicare prescription drug benefit.
  • Consult and advise the Group Director and Deputy on policies, procedures and critical issues to improve the overall management effectiveness of the Group.
  • Serve as a key liaison to facilitate effective communications between the Director and Deputy Director and other senior executives, management, and staff, both internal and external to MDBG.
  • Advise on significant problems that may develop because of changes in the course of action.

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:

  1. Coordinating projects and tasks on the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit or on quality measurement and improvement activities in the Medicare Part C or Part D programs; AND
  2. Reviewing policy and operational issues related to the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit or on quality activities in the Medicare Parts C or D programs, including on issue papers, correspondence, guidance, reports, and presentations; AND
  3. Managing schedules, maintaining databases and workload trackers, managing correspondence and clearances, and working on budget and travel activities; AND
  4. Establishing technical working relationships with internal and external stakeholders on Medicare Part C or Part D issues.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
