You will serve as a Woodcrafter (Painting Worker) in the Facility and Plant Maintenance Division of the Facility and Infrastructure Management Department FLTREADCEN EAST, Cherry Point, NC
Current permanent employees of 65923, Current or former time-limited employees that occupied a position located at a Defense Industrial Base Facility (DIBF) or Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB), DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) eligibles, and VEOA eligibles.
You will fabricate, assemble, install, and repair intricate articles of work or composition materials and interior wood finish
You will work with standard surface preparation and coating methods and techniques
You will interpret plans, blueprints, and sketches to visualize and complete complex wood crafting projects.
You will select appropriate combinations of materials, machines, accessories, techniques and plans the complete sequence of work to minimize lost time and material waste
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Perform woodworking and carpentry services required for the maintenance and repair to the interior and exterior of buildings, facilities, and structures within the Depot; 2) Set up and operate woodworking machines and tools such as band saws, jig saws, planers, joiners, molders, mortises, tenons, and sanders; 3) Advise customers on matters such as errors in their plans or dimensions, problems of fit, installation and selection, or substitution of materials; 4) Provide first-level reporting of actions taken on all maintenance execution tasks to work leaders, and maintenance schedulers to consistently document for all maintenance work orders in MAXIMO and 5) Assist in ISO, AMMT and other Depot inspections as required; 6) Apply various coating materials such as paints, varnishes and shellacs with brushes, rollers, spray guns and other related methods and techniques to ensure that coating finish meets surface protection requirements.
