Duties

Help
  • Serve as a Senior Healthcare Business Analyst within Defense Health Agency's (DHA) Financial Operations Directorate, Business Integration Division, Healthcare Delivery Branch.
  • Analyze, validate, and document business, organizational and/or operational requirements to support the business needs of stakeholders including the Defense Health Agency (DHA), the Department of the Army, Air Force and Navy.
  • Provide or oversee healthcare analysis in support of senior level working groups involved in a variety of work associated with DHA strategic business and organizational planning, corporate metrics and bench marking, and related projects.
  • Utilize specialized analytical, statistical, or visualization tools and software to provide analysis and display data in meaningful ways to facilitate the decision making process.
  • Develop and conduct programs to educate analysts and leaders on data.
  • Perform or oversee performance of statistical studies and complex retrievals of medical data for stakeholders at all levels from Defense Health Agency (DHA), the Department of Defense (DoD), other healthcare entities, and staff agencies.

  • Approximately 25% TDY travel is required in a calendar year. Travel may involve local, and or overnight.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes: accessing various medical or business intelligence data systems to view metrics, evaluating health system financial tools, conducting research of clinic operations, utilizing analytical, statistical, and visualization tools or software to communicate and develop executive-level briefings, providing recommendations for policies, conducting programs to educate leadership, and applying programming languages such as SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and automation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
