You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist (Shipbuilding) in the Quality Assurance Department of the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion & Repair (SUPSHIP), Newport News, VA.

You will conduct on-site audits and surveillance (on ship and within production shops and at off-site vendors) of installation, fabrication and testing activities.
You will communicate regularly with ships force personnel and Contractor quality assurance/production personnel concerning process/product quality.
You will consult with SUPSHIP project office personnel and Contractor construction supervisors on quality related matters.
You will be assigned individual and team responsibilities for complex investigations of quality-related problems within assigned functional area(s).
You will conduct studies, evaluations and analyses of information to determine possible cause and resolutions of quality problems.
You will prepare detailed reports summarizing factual data, discussing methods used, problems analyzed and state conclusions and recommendations.
You will attend routine and special meetings for ship key events and other meetings such as critiques, fact-findings or quality problem resolution meetings.
You will analyze quality data obtained from audits, surveillance, procedure evaluations, quality meetings and communications from outside sources for assigned functional area(s) to determine a quality profile.
You will recommend to the Team Leader and/or Division Head the type of QA audit or surveillance needed within assigned functional area(s) to support key QA program elements.
You will conduct evaluations of the Contractor’s quality procedures and installed/fabricated hardware.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
