Summary

This position is responsible for comprehensive technical support of all the Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP), in Tucson AZ. automated equipment systems, such as automatic packaging systems, unit-of-use product dispensers, mail manifest system, tote conveyor systems, drug dosing machines, computer systems, and video monitoring systems. These systems are assembled from numerous constituent units or subsystems, which may in themselves be devices with an advanced degree of complexity.

Help

Major duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Overhauls, repairs, modifications, and replacement of failed or worn components for Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP)-related conveyor systems, automated dispensing equipment, materials handling equipment and a variety of other industrial equipment normally associated with automated systems.
  • Determines the nature of and extent of repairs and proceeds with the needed repairs by replacing, reworking, or refinishing worn or damaged parts and components.
  • Installs, disassembles, reassembles, and reinstalls complete system, various components and performs operational checks, make necessary adjustments, and observes equipment operation.
  • Installs equipment, parts, and/or components. Connects to power source, checks, and replaces electrical wiring and connections as needed and conducts operational tests of the entire system.
  • Sets up and operates all types of machine tools, such as small lathes, milling machines, drill presses, precision grinders, and other portable machine tools to perform onsite milling, grinding, boring, facing, and drilling.
  • Maintains bench stock levels of parts, materials, tools, and equipment at prescribed levels. Maintains records and documents action(s).
  • Conducts periodic preventative and recurring inspections, e.g. lubrication in accordance with manufacturers' instructions, and checking voltage and amperage changes in electrical equipment.
  • Examines for wear and tear and replaces worn out parts, bushings, linage pins, and unserviceable system units and components.
  • Disassembles, cleans, and inspects for defective parts, performs needed repairs by replacing, reworking, or refinish worn or damaged parts and components.
  • Maintains records on preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; Between the hours of 1400-0030 (2:00 pm - 12:30 am).

Qualifications

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: Frequently handles objects weighing forty five (45) pounds and occasionally carries objects weighing forty five (45) pounds pounds and over for considerable distances. Required to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, crawl, kneel, bend, and working cramped positions over and under machinery of all types for sustained periods of time.

Work is usually performed inside areas that are adequately lighted, ventilated and heated. Floor and deck surfaces are sometimes uneven, oily, and slippery. Frequently exposed to moving objects and sharp edges with the possibility of cuts and bruises, and to noise and vibration of machines. Occasionally, climbs and works from ladders and staging, causing exposure to possibility of serious injury from slipping and falling. Dirt, grease, and dampness are frequently encountered. Various protective devices such as hard hats, gloves, safety shoes, and glasses are used. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate driver's license may be required.

Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element (WG-2 and higher only; screen-outs are not applicable to WG-1).
