Summary

This position will be assigned to the JBSA Randolph ITT Office.

This is a flexible category position with guaranteed 00 hours per week, may work up to 40 hrs./week. Employees appointed to a flexible category position are not eligible for benefits.

Must be able to carry objects up to 10 pounds on a recurring basis and as much as 20 pounds occasionally.

Duties

Help

The purpose of this position is to provide support and assistance to patrons of ITT activity by selling tickets for local, in-state and national attractions, theme parks and events for our Military and their family. This position may also function as a tour guide/escort for instate and out of state tours. Sell over the counter and internet based tickets from Local and National Attraction Theme Parks. Takes Reservations for tours. Provides information on local amusements and general tourist information. Responsible for and maintains personal allotment of tickets. Orders tickets from management when needed, maintains daily ticket inventory log for accountability. Maintains stock record cards on all tickets and annotates both issue and sales to maintain accountability. Collects money through cash, check and charges. Issues receipt for all sales. Prepares daily individual Cashier's Report at the end of shift. Completes end of month inventory for all tickets under their responsibility. May be asked to perform as a tour escort for instate and out of state tours. Accompanying the tour group by acting as guide, insuring transportation and reservations are in order. Account for passengers on tour to ensure a successful trip. Keeps supervisor advised of any major or unusual problems which may arise during tour of duty. Replenishes brochures on racks and orders when out of stock. Ensures work environment is clean; vacuuming, sweeping, mopping of floors, wiping down all glass areas. Will work under supervision of Information, Tickets and Travel Manager who provides guidance when performing new or procedurally complex duties. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have experience as a cashier and cash handling procedures. Must have worked directly with Customers. Practical experience of travel, tour and recreation activities, rules, procedures is desirable. Experience in following oral and written instructions effectively. Must have experience in working in fast paste environment. Experience in the local tourism industry is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): You qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
2. Ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
3. Ability to effectively communicate with customers.
4. Ability to handle multiple job related tasks concurrently.
5. Knowledge of the local area.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
