• Independently plans and carries out assignments to include efficient Register Nurse Pre-operative appointments and data quality management to ensure smooth daily operations.
• This position manages and coordinates clerical duties inherent to the operating room scheduling services.
• maintaining daily patient logs and various records; preparing reports; and utilizing automated/computer equipment (i.e. scanner, fax, copier, label maker) supportive of the orthopedics and podiatry program; and performing simple repetitive programs.
• The incumbent implements policies and procedures for scheduling operations.
• Ensures the clinic's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, operating room work plans and work products and services.
• Prepares and coordinates all consultations and referral appointments to ensure and facilitate proper patient care and interacts with other physicians and clinics to avoid administrative problems or delays.
• Delivers instructions to patients on when and where to appear for preoperative and postoperative appointments.
• Generates data on a daily, weekly, monthly, and on demand basis to identify trends impacting on operating room and appointment availability and the efficient delivery of routine and acute operating room demands.

• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
• This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
